We had 4 rooms setup with different activities for our groups to muddle through- assemble the mask, true/false and short answer, machines and masks, and CPAP accessories. I fooled a few of you with a large nasal mask that looked like a full face mask. Overall, I was impressed how well everyone knows their machines and what is available as extras.]

A heartfelt thank you to all that attended last night’s Support Group, Aug 27. Is it just me or are we having more involvement in our discussions? I am so happy to be involved with this group. Thanks to everyone for attending last night's meeting!
Lots of travel talk last night, even if no one is headed on a European or Caribbean vacation! Lots of fun around dream vacations though! Travel always brings up questions of power, water, batteries, or transport. How much water does your chamber hold and does your machine data use ever show zero- lots of discussion around these points.

And we continue to roll along, bonding, sharing stories, and really becoming a supportive family. Our support group met again- Feb 26.
So how can we help others around us? Whether we have family, friends, or neighbors, they may either need that little push to seek a diagnosis, or maybe additional encouragement to continue their use to increase the benefits of CPAP therapy. You can make a difference in someone's life.
We continue to have a great turnout, and would welcome more attendees. We offer coffee, tea, and some yummy treats, as well as the monthly door prize. Congrats to our lucky Kathy for her win!

Sleep Joke of the Month
Have you heard about those new corduroy pillow cases?
They're really making headlines. ;)
January OSA Support Group
We had 3 brave souls come out for the OSA Support Group on Jan 29. Incredible, considering we had a frigid -39C with the wind-chill! With tea, fruit, and cookies in hand, we had some great discussion about travelling with a CPAP machine (see below), the differences between nasal/direct/FF masks, humidification, and the SoClean/Lumin. Kathy was our draw winner for the night!
Tips for travelling with CPAP:
- Carry on, don’t stow underneath the plane
- Don’t carry water!
- Take photos of the mask, tubing and machine (much easier to replace if lost)
- Travel with a copy of the CPAP prescription so if anything gets lost or breaks, it can be purchased locally
- Pay attention to the different weather – humidity settings may need to change
- Purified drinking water is ok to use while away – be sure to wash any minerals off the bottom of the container before they harden
See you at the next meeting- Feb 26.
